Civil engineering for the design of Island Transit’s bus maintenance and administrative facility. Design services included preparation of grading and paving plans for light vehicle parking. Parking featured low-impact development BMPs, including pervious pavement, raingardens for stormwater treatment and infiltration, design of heavy duty concrete for transit coach parking and maintenance areas, design of a new potable water supply system, and improvements to the existing fire protection water supply system. DCG also provided design coordination for a new on-site sewage system, water rights planning, temporary and permanent site access permitting through WSDOT and Island County, and extensive site plan permit coordination. DCG worked closely with the landscape architect to design berms and landscaping to meet the site screening conditions imposed by the Ebey’s Landing Historic Preservation Commission. During construction, DCG engineers provided full-service construction support and coordination.
