San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park
Client: National Park Service
DCG provided marine engineering and permitting services to the National Park Service for replacement of the National Historic Landmark (NHL) Scow Schooner Alma’s floating dock and improvements to the berthing configuration and gangway access to the NHL Steam Tugboat Hercules.
For the Scow Schooner Alma, the floating dock is the start and end point for public excursions on this historic vessel dating from 1891. The project scope includes the design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of a floating dock, guide piles, gangway, fenders, and access bridge. For the Steam Tugboat Hercules, the project includes the replacement of the existing access system and rearranging the existing berthing configuration to allow the tugboat to be moored on its port rail and boarded during any tidal range.
