Transportation, Sidewalks, & Roads

Our transportation facilities project experience includes design for new construction, reconstruction, and rehabilitation of state highway, local, and residential roadways, and intermodal facilities. We help our clients with surveys, public involvement, right-of-way, access control, and a variety of other transportation issues. DCG has experience with local, WSDOT, Trans Aid, TEA-21, TIB, and private funding sources.

SR20 Township Street to Fruitdale Sidewalk & Road Lane Widening

The lane-widening project consisted of approximately 1,100 LF of lane widening, and 4,300 LF of 8-foot-wide sidewalk construction. Other site work consisted of saw cutting, pavement and concrete removal, tree removal, widening existing sidewalks, installing new sidewalks and sidewalk ramps, installing concrete traffic curb and gutter, traffic control, erosion control, pavement markings, and signs. A civil plan set as well as a WSDOT channelization plan were created to show the work being done as part of the project.

Design for 91st Ave. & 4th Street Improvements

To enhance safety of pedestrians and bicyclists, and to promote pedestrian and bicycle mobility and overall community health, this project addressed the gap in facilities along a school’s frontage property by adding a bike lane, planter strip and sidewalk. The project provided the design and installation of 875 linear feet of 5 ft wide sidewalk, 4.5 ft wide planter strip, curb and gutter, and 5 ft wide bike lanes along the frontage property of Hillcrest Elementary. ADA compliance curb ramps were also included at the northeast corner of the intersection of 91st Avenue and 4th Street. Retaining walls were built to minimize ROW acquisition needs. DCG provided preliminary and detailed design, plans, specification, cost estimates, coordination efforts with relocation of utilities and underground power facilities, inspections, and construction oversight.

Cascade Avenue Sidewalk Improvements

Design and project management of new sidewalk improvements, design of porous asphalt, completion of parking layout, design of storm drainage improvements, oversight of public bidding process and management of construction through completion and CDBG closeout.

Anthes Ave Pedestrian Improvements

Design and construction phase engineering services for the installation of new curb, gutter and sidewalks along approximately 1,300 feet of Anthes Avenue. Project included storm drainage system improvements, replacement of approximately 700 feet of water main, and a full roadway reconstruction.
