Fire Station 25
Station 25 is the oldest fire station in Kirkland. The $3M renovation began in October 2017 and included seismic retrofit of the structure so that it can better withstand disaster and replacement of all aging mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression systems with energy-efficient, code-compliant systems. There is also an updated floor plan and improved ventilation to firefighter living and working spaces including a new, separate drying room for firefighter gear with separate ventilation.Coupeville Library Expansion
The library expansion increased the existing 2,600sf library to over 5,400sf, updating the building to a more modern feel and improving the site with a new entry. Civil site design included grading design and drainage modifications that incorporated rain gardens and other Low Impact Development (LID) strategies. Structural design included merging the new expansion with the existing building and roof that were to remain intact.Emmanuel Presbyterian Church
This 4,700sf remodel and addition to the existing church required an integration of the new addition into the remodeled portion of the existing sanctuary and a seamless transition to the floor of the existing building. Standard wood framing and large glu-lam beams were used to provide a tall clerestory at the entry that creates an architectural transition between roof and clerestory.Big Lake Fire Station
The new 12,000sf fire station for the Skagit County Fire District #9 is able to hold seven vehicles and includes a large training/community room along with support rooms . The design utilized long span wood trusses for the 80ft clear span of the vehicle bay.
