Moorage Facilities

DCG services both public and private port and harbor facilities. Our work encompasses everything from small kayak float launches to work in large-scale marinas.

Commercial Fishing Homeport

DCG is currently leading a feasibility study to assess the effects of a potential Commercial Fishing Homeport in Gig Harbor, Washington. Additionally, permitting services for advanced mitigation are being provided for future site construction. The photo shown here is prior to the Homeport construction.

Community Paddlers Dock

The DCG team has led all design and ongoing permitting/mitigation efforts for the installation of a new gangway and float system for the City of Gig Harbor. The project includes the installation of ADA accessible small watercraft launch floats. Our team has also provided several rounds of permit modifications due to design updates. The photo shown here is prior to construction.

Channel Islands National Park

DCG is leading the consultant team for replacement of the pier on Anacapa Island. This project will rehabilitate the severely deteriorated, 80-year-old Anacapa Pier and makes improvements to minimize loading/unloading risks for both personnel and cargo. The improvements include replacement of the construction pier, fender piles, a stern mooring line to limit vessel motion, and repairs to a concrete wall face and top slab. Provisions have also been included to raise the deck elevation to accommodate for sea level rise and to install the fender piles approximately 5-ft away from the edge of the pier to provide a recessed and protected space for a new adjustable platform. The photo shown here is of the deteriorated pier, prior to construction.

San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park

DCG is providing marine engineering and permitting services to the National Park Service for replacement of the National Historic Landmark (NHL) Scow Schooner Alma’s floating dock and improvements to the berthing configuration and gangway access to the NHL Steam Tugboat Hercules. For the Scow Schooner Alma, the floating dock is the start and end point for public excursions on this historic vessel since 1891. The project scope includes design, fabrication, delivery, and installation of a floating dock, anchor piles, gangway, fenders, and access bridge. For the Steam Tugboat Hercules, the project includes the replacement of the existing access system and rearranging the existing berthing configuration to allow the tugboat to be moored on its port rail and boarded during any tidal range.
